Investing to build healthier communities
Safran believes business success goes hand-in-hand with making a difference in our local communities by backing those who work to improve the health of local citizens. Safran employees are also keen participants in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The popular fundraiser sees teams camp out for 24 hours around a community track, where members take turns to run or walk the route for cancer research.
Grassroots fundraising by Safran employees
At a grassroots level, employees of Safran companies contribute directly to the health of local communities, getting involved in various initiatives nationwide. At Safran Landing Systems, employees raise money through walks for The March of Dimes and the American Heart Association.

Their annual blood drive for the Hoxworth Blood Center in Cincinnati is always popular, as are the quarterly blood drives that Safran Helicopter Engines organizes for Carter BloodCare in Texas. The United Way, a North American organization that helps local communities with educational, financial and health issues, is another key benefactor of staff efforts from Safran Electrical & Power and Safran Landing Systems.
Much is done too on behalf of cancer research organizations to impact people's lives across the country. Safran Landing Systems and Safran Electrical & Power teams raise money for cancer charities like the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness and their Race for the Cure, while Safran Helicopter Engines assembles and donates toiletry kits to Cook's Children Hospital to help families with unexpected overnight stays.
In 2019, employees from Safran Test Cells in New Brighton, Minnesota dedicated a week of volunteering to assist Habitat for Humanity with building a home (photo at right). Their tasks involved installing fascia and soffit, trimming windows, framing and installing cabinet backing supports, and installing drainage systems.
