Job description

General Responsibilities/Purposes:
Responsible for compliance accounting: closing the books, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset records, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.
Specific Duties/Accountabilities % of Time
Planning and Organization
Establish and implement accounting policies, practices and procedures to ensure reliable financial records and books of account. 20%
Direct the development and assure the proper maintenance of control systems to safeguard company assets and effectively monitor operations.
Establish, in cooperation with management, credit and collection policies to minimize outstanding accounts receivable. Direct billing activities to ensure proper control and systems flow of information.
Directing and Controlling
Ensure that all financial statements are timely and correct.
Investigate opportunities for improving or further automating existing accounting practices and processes.
Advise and assist managers/supervisors in the fulfillment of their respective functions as related to accounting procedures.
Incumbent may be required to perform other duties/responsibilities not specifically listed in this position guide.

Job requirements

Education or Basic Knowledge Required
Bachelors of Science in Accounting is required. Comprehensive understanding of financial transactions and their effect on business. Knowledge of financial statements, controls and all other accounting-relating functions
Experience Required
10 years of experience including supervisory experience within the Manufacturing and/or Defense industry. International experience is a plus.
