IT Systems Director
Professional, Engineer & Manager
The individual in this position ensures the alignment of the Information Systems with company strategy. This individual will be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance, repair and overhaul, and quality and security of the Information System. In this context, this individual manages the marketing of Information Systems and of the IT Department, inside and outside the company. The individual in this role defines and validates the big IT evolutions in the company; anticipates the necessary developments in accordance with company strategy, and manages the costs thereof. The individual in this role evaluates and makes recommendations for investment according to the technological advances required, and ensures effective risk management for the Information System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- • Definition, supervision and implementation of IS policy:
o Advises on and defines the company's Information Systems policy
o Monitors all Information Systems Department activity
o Mediates Information Systems Department resources (studies, resources, budgets, investments, etc.)
- • Promotion of quality in relationships with partners
o Ensures the quality of customer-supplier relationships
o Defines and ensures compliance with Service Level Agreements
- • Definition and implementation of a “Make or Buy” policy
o Conducts market analysis, evaluates contract offers and makes proposals to the General Management
o Analyses performance and monitors quality of contractors
- • Internal communications, motivation and coordination of Information Systems Department personnel
o Manages and mediates inter-disciplinary projects involving participants in different locations
o Implements actions to provide support to IT personnel during changes

IS and Business Strategy Alignment – Anticipates long term business requirements and determines the IS model in line with organization policy. Makes strategic IS policy decisions for the enterprise, including sourcing strategies.
Service Level Management – Defines, validates and makes applicable service level agreements (SLA) and underpinning contracts for services offered. Negotiates service performance levels taking into account the needs and capacity of customers and business.

Education and/or Experience –Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer engineering, or computer science is preferred; MBA is a plus. Minimum 10 years related experience, including management of IT systems, or large company-wide projects. Systems management of large organizations in a national and international environment preferred. Experience in the aerospace industry a definite plus.
Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability – Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should possess strong skills in Microsoft Power Point, Publisher, Excel Spreadsheet and Word software.
Physical Demands – While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
Business Plan Development – Addresses the design and structure of a business or product plan including the identification of alternative approaches as well as return on investment propositions. Considers the possible and applicable sourcing models. Presents cost benefit analysis and reasoned arguments in support of the selected strategy. Ensures compliance with business and technology strategies. Communicates and sells business plan to relevant stakeholders and addresses political, financial, and organizational interests.
Sustainable Development – Estimates the impact of ICT solutions in terms of eco responsibilities including energy consumption. Advises business and ICT stakeholders on sustainable alternatives that are consistent with the business strategy. Applies an ICT purchasing and sales policy which fulfills eco-responsibilities.
Innovating - Devises creative solutions for the provision of new concepts, ideas, products or services. Deploys novel and open thinking to envision exploitation of technological advances to address business/ society needs or research direction.
Specificity of the job
Must be able to travel to US sites and internationally, as needed.
