In the role of Strategic Commodity Buyer, you will have overall responsibility for the strategic sourcing of assigned commodities. You'll have the opportunity to support procurement requirements through source selection, supplier relationships, cost reduction negotiation, delivery and quality performance. This position contributes to our vision by:

  • • In line with strategic objectives, leading the negotiations to select, appoint and steer a supply base that progresses the company objectives on quality, cost, delivery, and continuous improvement
  • • Continually developing strong relationships with internal business partners across the company and stay connected to their individual business strategies and needs
  • • Developing and executing RFI, RFQ, and RFP requirements
  • • Evaluating competitive offers and presenting sourcing options that meet business requirements
  • • Negotiating supplier agreements in line with company objectives. Continous coordination with group legal required

Job requirements

Safran Electrical & Power looks for service-oriented team players with strong interpersonal skills, the right attitude and adaptability to an innovative and evolving environment.

  • • Requires a Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business Administration or related
  • • Requires a minimum of 5-10 years experience in a sourcing or production environment with a successful track record of developing and executing supplier or customer strategies and programs involving supplier partnership / alliances
  • • Experience sourcing Aerospace components is preferred
  • • Advanced Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is required
  • • Requires advanced negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills and a professional, ethical personal conduct and demeanor
  • • Requires up to 25% travel
