Liaison Design Engineer (Safran Electrical & Power USA, LLC – Everett, WA)
Job Duties: Act as project leader in specialized instances, provide functional and technical guidance to engineering design teams, Manufacturing and customer support teams. Lead design support and change management activities and mentor lesser experienced team members. Collaborate and coordinate with customer to develop design solutions through the approval process. Communicate change definition and implementation criteria of design solutions to design teams. Interface with external and internal customers to develop and maintain wire harness detail, installation, and bundle assembly, including 3D wire harness installation models, wire harness assembly models, and 2D formboard drawings. Ensure application of business unit best practices and identifies the need for enhanced processes, methods, and tools. Translate program technical requirements into work requirements, processes, and tasks. Identify and communicate the need for new/enhanced design requirements. Ensure design optimization through commonality, cost, weight, ability to produce, and maintainability of design. Ensure compliance to design requirements.
Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field and 3 years of experience in the following: using CATIA V5 and/or ENOVIA (or equivalent 3D CAD design experience such as ex P ProE or Unigraphics); Wire Harness Installation and Wire Harness Assembly design activities, processes, and tools. 3 years of stated experience must be in a leadership and mentoring role. (In lieu of a Master's degree and 3 years of experience as stated, will accept a Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience as stated).
