Job description

Summary/Objective

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for reviewing CFM 56 engine files to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies, before granting a technical approval for the purchase of the engine. This position will follow an individual work plan, meet day-to-day short-term objectives, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Required Education and Experience

  • • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a maintenance or repair position in an aerospace company). Masters of Science preferred


Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • • Knowledge of the CFM56 engine product lines and general aerospace rules and requirements
  • • Capable of preparing, coordinating, and maintaining accurate detailed documentation necessary for technical approval
  • • Advanced level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • • Lead, coordinate and assist in the preparation, review and completion of the engine technical reviews
  • • Capable of utilizing O.E.M. engine shop manual, specialized instructions, regulatory requirements etc… to assess engine status
  • • Responsible for daily engine file review in accordance with work instructions
  • • Develop, implement and maintain operating plans / strategies for each assigned program or engine
  • • Ensure accuracy of documentation and work with seller/consigner to correct documentation as required
  • • Responsible for resolution of issues related to the technical approval process, including traceability issues
  • • Understands ISO and regulatory requirement, and is capable of auditing them
  • • Communicate progress, status and issues to the appropriate departments
  • • Continuously strive to strengthen and refine department effectiveness
  • • Develops procedures for fulfilling project objectives, identifying problem and recommending solutions
  • • Recommends departmental expenditures
  • • Has authority to act at his own discretion, with short-term review or audit by the Technical Director
