Job description

Job Summary:
An Electrical Engineer 2 creates systems design of aircraft interior products such as bins, galleys, lavatories, closets and ceiling panels used in commercial and private aircrafts using a computer aided drafting system. The Electrical Engineer 2 reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Summary of Duties:
 Produce complex systems design, 3D models and 2D drawings of aircraft interior products within technical specification and project requirements.
 Work with senior design engineers to complete engineering deliverables per project schedule and budget.
 Create complex 3D models and 2D drawings that meet the Safran design standards using Safran processes and documentations.
 With guidance from senior design engineers, incorporate design to cost practices to ensure that project design cost targets are met.
 With guidance from senior design engineers, coordinate with other department to ensure that designs and drawings incorporate inputs from all disciplines.
 Provide engineering support for production to solve technical issues.
 Leverage Safran Cabin standard parts and designs in product development.
 Follow 3D models and 2D drawings all the way from creation through release to ensure project schedules are met.
 Creating status of tasks and progress of work in Safran Engineering task management tool.

Job requirements

Education: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in a related field (e.g. electronics) required
Experience: 3+ years related experience in aerospace or electrical engineering design.
Computer Skill: Proficient working knowledge of CAD & PLM Systems. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Additional Preferred Skills: (not required)

  • • BS in Electrical, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
  • • Understanding of FAA certification process for aircraft interiors.
  • • Understanding of airframe OEM requirements.
  • • Proficient in CATIA V5 electrical workbench.
  • • Previous design experience with electrical systems preferably in the commercial aerospace industry.
  • • Able to work on several programs simultaneously.
  • • AutoCAD is useful.
