Summary of Job Purpose:
- - The Information Technology IT Desktop Support Specialist ensures day-to-day operation of the information technology infrastructures including desktops, LAN, WAN, Telephony and Physical building security (Alarms, NVR, etc.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Ensure the LAN / WAN are available
o Manage Active Directory
o Local User setup
o Setup Network shares
o Ability to document understand IP addressing, port configuration and protocol utilization
o Understand VLAN configuration and troubleshoot connection issues
o Support VoIP Cisco Unify Communications, Phone and End User setup
o Support Security System for Morpho readers, server and controller
o Support E-mail – Escalation to SED IT France as needed
o Configure and support Wireless – Wi-Fi
o Order, Setup and deploy cell phone
Application: Supporting end user side support to, but not limited to applications below
o SAP/Citrix/Google Suite/Meeting Collaboration tools
o M-Files - Enovia and other Engineering applications
o Microsoft Office
o Must be able to support Windows desktop environment
o Restore computers
o Work with shop floor requires safety shoes and goggles
o Work with office environment
o Ability to transfer data user data from one PC to another PC
o Install standard applications according to written instructions such as Adobe Pro, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, upgrade Office
o Ability to image a PC with Windows, Post install of Windows install additional standard applications according to company instructions.
o Strong troubleshooting skills for various computer systems, and network issues
o Ability to be a self-starter, work the issues and resolve them without being told
o Strong computer hardware, software, and networking skills
o Strong in-person, on-phone communication skills as well as writing
o Excellent listening skills to understand client issues and ability to ask the right questions
o Passion for technology and desire to help others
o Communicate technical issues in terms that are understood by both technical and non-technical users.
o Able to multi-task and deal with multiple users and multiple issues simultaneously
o Excellent time management, organization, and ability to work under pressure
o Independent and resourceful for finding solutions for new and/or unknown issues
o Must communicate with Safran Electronics & Defense and Safran (France)
o Must be flexible with work hours as French support personnel may only be available during early PST and/or CST times
o Must use standard help desk ticketing tool for help desk management
o Must attend weekly IT meeting
o Must exercise good judgement, will have access to sensitive information
o Must keep an organized and presentable work area
o Must present a professional appearance and approach to customer support
- - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
- - The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Education / Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
Minimum of 3-5 years of IT experience
Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within
the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident
(i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
Fluent in French
Ability to triage and prioritize work
Skills and Abilities:
General computer skills installing an operating system and applications
Manage Active Directory, Print Server, Perform Backups
Proficient with Microsoft: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Visio
Thorough attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Exhibits clear and concise written and verbal communication client liaison skills.
Capacity to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with multiple concurrent assignments
Works and communicates effectively at all organizational levels and across functional areas
The employee maybe required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
Ability read and follow instructions in English
