Space has become a hostile environment over the past years. Exponential growth of space objects makes Space Traffic Coordination and the protection of National space assets a daily challenge.

Space Domain Awareness (SDA) is critical to the US Government to ensure space superiority and protection of strategic space based capabilities.

To meet the rising demand for Space Domain Awareness data, SAFRAN DATA SYSTEMS designed a unique technology capable of locating any space based RF transmitting object from earth. Enabled by RF sensors deployed worldwide, SAFRAN DATA SYSTEMS' WeTrack service provides governments and defense agencies with priceless information on third party satellites. Data provided includes satellite ephemeris, state vectors and unrivalled near real-time maneuver detections.

The Space Domain Awareness analyst is interacting with SAFRAN DATA SYSTEM's customers to provide them with the proper WeTrack generated data. Consequently, the analyst coordinates with the customers to understand their mission requirements and to task accordingly the WeTrack RF sensors over the world to generate the appropriate data.

The analyst is capable of supporting first level questions from customers about WeTrack general capabilities and WeTrack generated data.

Through its daily connection with the customers the analyst understands and prioritizes the market requirements to help the team build out the WeTrack roadmap and soon to come service features. The analyst may also create scripts to enhance WeTrack measurements strategy and data analysis.

This position requires an understanding of the terminology and theory of space flight dynamics relating to space craft orbit determination.

Responsibility and Accountability

  • -Respond to customer requests that may lead to data delivery, data analysis or WeTrack RF sensors tasking within 60 minutes.
  • -Communicate and coordinate customer requests and activities with the Safran Data Systems' team.
  • -Monitor and help maintain the WeTrack RF sensor network, as necessary.
  • -May be required to attend group Space Traffic Management training, meetings or events.

Education and Experience

  • -Bachelor of Science
  • -Proficiency in computer science.
  • -Python language a plus.
  • -Knowledge of space flight dynamics (satellite orbit determination) a plus.
  • -Background in telecom/signal processing or radio frequencies a plus.

WORK HOURS: 0800-1630 Mountain Time
*Lunch = 30 minutes
**Will require on call hours as requested by United States
Government organizations, both military and commercial.
