Safran group draws crowds during the 2014 NBAA convention

With state-of-the-art products from six Safran group companies, the Safran booth was a hit among visitors at this month’s National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA) annual convention at Orlando, Florida.

Sagem was in the spotlight with its Active Side Stick Unit (SSU), a long-awaited innovation for aircraft and helicopter cockpits. Announced during the show, this system facilitates pilot and co-pilot coordination. Industry visitors, journalists and aviation enthusiasts alike enjoyed the opportunity to "flight test" a cockpit simulator featuring the SSU. The new Snecma Silvercrest® jet engine also was "brought to life" at the convention with an eye-catching display technology. It provided an animated 360-deg. view of Silvercrest – being developed by Snecma for use on the Dassault Falcon 5X and Cessna Aircraft Citation Longitude business jets. In addition to presenting the core powerplant, the holographic representation also detailed its integration with the nacelle, provided by the Safran group's Aircelle business unit. Held October 21-23, the 2014 NBAA convention welcomed some 1,100 exhibitors from all areas of business aviation, with more than 26,000 attendees registered during the event.
