Safran Electronics & Defense subsidiary Optics 1 exhibited at the U.S. Navy League's global maritime exposition, Sea-Air-Space, which took place at the Gaylord National Convention Center in Maryland from April 9 to 11. This event is the largest of its kind in the United States, focusing on the most cutting-edge technology in the maritime domain.

The Optics 1 subsidiary of Safran Electronics & Defense exhibited a range of optronics, navigation and surveillance systems at Sea-Air-Space – an exposition organized by the U.S. Navy League.

Visitors were able to experience Safran technologies first-hand and learn about their unique capabilities from company experts. The company's exhibit featured a range of optronics systems, navigation systems, and surveillance systems.

The main highlight of this year's show was the ARTIS 410, Safran Electronics & Defense's newest airborne surveillance system which was unveiled earlier this year.  The ARTIS 410 provides ultra-long-range observation and precision targeting capabilities in a single unit.

Optics 1's booth also featured the BlueNaute navigation system, based on a hemispherical resonator gyro (HRG) technology patented by Safran Electronics & Defense. The U.S. Coast Guard selected this system to modernize its Reliance class cutters and Juniper class ocean-going buoy tenders. BlueNaute will also equip the Royal Canadian Navy's arctic/offshore patrol boats.

In addition, Optics 1 showcased PASEO, a new family of multi-mission tactical electro-optical systems for combat vehicles and warships. The naval version of the PASEO system can be integrated in the ship's combat system, or operated from a special console.

A range of portable observation and targeting optronics solutions, including the VECTOR hand held laser rangefinder, the MOSKITO TI target locator, and the COTI (Clip-On Thermal Imager), were also displayed at the booth.

All these solutions are designed to support the armed forces in meeting their critical missions domestic and abroad.
