Safran Test Cells volunteers with Habitat for Humanity to help build a home

Volunteers from Safran Test Cells helped build a home in Roseville, Minnesota in support of Habitat for Humanity.

A team effort representing all departments of the Safran Test Cells business in Minnesota helped build a home in Roseville, Minnesota to provide lodging to those in need before the cold winter months.

During a week-long period in October, Safran Test Cells provided volunteers for eight hours daily in such tasks as trimming windows, framing and installing cabinet backing supports, handling exterior and interior finishing, and digging around the home foundation to apply an exterior drainage system. 

This activity was performed in conjunction with the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity, with 15-18 company employees working each day – involving nearly 85 persons in total.

Supporting Habitat for Humanity

Safran Test Cells saw this project as an opportunity to give back to the local community and help those in need of a home before winter sets in. Through this volunteering activity, families achieve the strength, stability and independence they need to build a better life.

Volunteer Tyler Larson summarized the experience by stating: "I always enjoy doing charity work. In this activity, the experience also involved teaming up with people from Safran Test Cells that I normally do not work with closely."

HR team member Alexis Cummings said: "It was nice to come together as a company to give back to our community."

Safran Test Cells' support for the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity involved nearly 85 people in total.

Chance Nguyen added: "I have always felt privileged to have a roof over my head. Safran offered the opportunity to give back, and I was excited to help!"

Highlighting his reason for getting involved, Mike Ostendorf stated: "I volunteered because I enjoy helping others while working alongside coworkers."
